James N. Guido, Sr., 91, husband of the late Ida M. (Fitzcharles) Guido, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA.
Born in Phoenixville, PA on December 2, 1924, he was the son of the late Lawrence Guido, Sr., and Josephine (Verdicco) Guido.
James served in the United States Army during World War II and was in the Normandy Invasion on D-Day.
He worked at Valley Forge General Hospital until its closing, and then for Phoenixville School District, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Kimberton, where he served as an usher for 40 years.
He enjoyed having weekly breakfast with fellow Veterans.
He was a member of Friendship Fire Company and Veteran of Foreign War Post 1564 in Phoenixville. He loved watching old westerns, especially "The Rifle Man", and was affectionately known as the Mayor of Ruth Avenue.
He loved his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by step-daughter, Judy Fitzcharles, brothers and sisters, Thomas, Frank, Mary, Angie, Dominic, and Larry.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.
A viewing will be held in the church on Saturday morning from 8:45 am to 9:45 am.
